It was exactly two years ago when Jennie and I found out that we were expecting our little bundle of joy. Fast forward to today and Athena is now 15 months old and continues to amaze us with her fast paced development.
A lot has happened since I last wrote an entry when she turned one. Athena had her first visit to the dentist which went well because she was given a good marks from her dentist with 16 baby teeth and zero cavities.
Athena also had a visit to the salon where she got her first haircut. The visit went well and she had some of her curls clipped to even out her hair. Athenas long hair is a feature that stands out and most people comment on how long and out of control her curls are.
Athena has also had a few other notable fun firsts like her first time at Disneyland, her first time Trick or treating, her very first time opening Christmas gifts and her first time at the movies where she saw “Coco”.

Athena has hit quite a few developmental milestones since I last wrote when she turned one. She can say and understand more words. Currently and unsurprisingly her favorite word right now is ‘no’ paired with a steady side-to-side head shake. She likes giving ‘besitos’ when asked to. She still needs to work on her timing though be cause she currently puckers her lips, makes contact, then has a comically delayed smack. We have been teaching her about anatomy. When we ask her where her eyes are she points to them and when we ask her where her teeth are she opens her mouth wide open. Athena is also starting to earn her keep. She regularly hands Jennie the broom when she wants her to sweep. She enjoys oiling her toys up in her toy bin almost as much as she enjoys emptying it. When given a piece of trash she will happily take it to the ‘basura if asked. But, it should be noted she also likes to trow away things that are not trash.
At her last check up Athena measured 32″ tall and weighed in at 29 lbs 8oz.
